The Well 52: Sarah Fox

Meet Pediatric Pelvic Health expert and Lighthouse Pediatric Physical Therapy owner Dr. Sarah Fox, PT, DPT

Tell us a little bit about yourself...
I’m a mom of 3 boys, sports lover (Who Dey & Boiler Up!), any beach is my happy place. I’ve been a physical therapist at Cincinnati Children’s for over 10 years, during which time my passion for pediatric pelvic health was ignited. I’m obsessed with helping kiddos overcome poop & pee problems to live their best lives!

What is the most important thing you do for your wellness?
Workout @ DEFINE. It’s. The. BEST.  Define is a fitness studio in Cincinnati that offers cycle, barre, bounce and flow.  It is a place of positivity, encouragement, and happiness. It has helped give me the chance to focus on myself during those few classes a week.  Every time I walk in I am greeted with a smile and words of encouragement-- if you need to feel good about yourself or have someone tell you you're crushing it today, check out Define or get involved in a great workout studio near you!  I literally cannot be the best version of myself without dedicating time in my week to exercise.  I try to make it there three times a week but of course life can get in the way of that.

What is one piece of advice you'd give to others?
I have dedicated my career to helping others with their pelvic floor. My best advice is to get comfortable with talking about something no one wants to talk about... Poop!  Lighthouse Pediatric Physical Therapy provides therapy for children from birth to young adulthood, specializing in pelvic health. We are committed to not only treating but preventing pee & poo problems so children can live their best lives. If you feel lost with your child’s bowel & bladder problems and need guidance to solutions, know that there are therapies and services out there to correct them!

What is one quote/ mantra you live by?
I am being guided.

Brag on yourself- what is something you are REALLY proud of.
My boys. I am in no way the best mom but they are awesome. I’m also really proud of the pelvic therapy program I built at CCHMC. If I wouldn’t have been as vocal, persistent & confident, it wouldn’t exist. I think about all the kiddos it’s helped since 2016 & it fills my heart with joy.
