The Well 52: Beth Porter
Tell us a little bit about yourself...
Hello! My name is Beth Porter and I’m a Cincinnati native living in Colorado. I have a healing practice (Earth & Ether) where I help people understand what’s going on under the surface. The process often looks like healing trauma, past programming and limiting beliefs — a reconciliation of who you thought you were with who you really are. I work with a healing system called Emotional Polarity Technique™ (EPT™) to uncover the unresolved conflict keeping you stuck in some outdated version of yourself. In my work with clients, I help them find peace and alignment through forgiveness.
What is the most important thing you do for your wellness?
I’ve always responded well to routine and structure (Virgo rising over here). With that, I have found it important to pay acute attention to my changing and evolving needs, allowing my daily habits to reflect and support the person I am today, not who I was 3 months ago. I honor my cyclical nature and know that sometimes a routine with daily rituals serves me, while other times it doesn’t. Lately, I’ve been going on regular-ish morning or evening walks. A few months before, a non-negotiable morning journaling session was what I required to feel clear, grounded and in my own energy. When I can sense myself moving into another season, I slow down and wait for the new “instructions” to arrive.
What is one piece of advice you'd give to others?
It’s ok to be in the “not knowing”. It’s ok to feel like everything is too hard or too confusing. Sometimes it is. Once you accept where you are, everything starts to shift. Surrendering, to me, means giving it up, and doing what you know to do in that moment. Let yourself be exactly enough, as you are, in the present moment. That’s when clarity comes and confidence is built. Sometimes I’ll ask the question, “if you knew you were already exactly enough as you are right now, how would you show up to this situation?”
What is one quote/ mantra you live by?
“Speed is irrelevant if you’re traveling in the wrong direction.” - Mahatma Ghandi
Brag on yourself- what is something you are REALLY proud of?
I built an alternative healing practice from scratch. Earth & Ether grew out of my desire to share with others the modality and tools that have helped me heal and transform the darkest experiences I’ve encountered and live a meaningful, soul-led life. Integrity in my practice and business is very important to me especially since the nature of my work deals with the tender areas of the human psyche. I have and continue to honor what I believe to be important even when advised by industry mentors and coaches to cut corners and ignore my inner compass. I’m proud of my courage to stay true to what matters to me, and opt for organic growth over inauthentic success.
