What is the most important thing you do for your wellness?

Oh wow, this is hard because I think wellness is all-encompassing. Alignment of the body and mind, meaning making sure your mental and physical health is taken care of through meditation, journaling, breathwork, exercise, getting outside in nature, etc., is what creates whole-self wellness. BUT, that being said, I recently had foot surgery which prevented me from being able to do anything physical for several weeks. During this time, I relied solely on meditation and journaling because the physical part of my being wasn't able to get in the exercise aspect. And you know what? I didn't find myself "craving" movement. Meditation and journaling helped me get through that period of stillness (and even helped ease pain!). So when it comes down to it, for me, meditation and journaling is the most important thing for my wellness. It is quite interesting that it took not being able to exercise to figure it out though! haha

What is one piece of advice you'd give to other women?

Be unapologetically yourself. Too often we modify our behaviors based on what we feel the environment likes or needs. When you are your true, authentic self, the people who are meant to be in your life will be drawn your way. Once I finally decided I don't need approval from everyone or need to be liked by everyone and allowed myself to express who I am freely and openly, people took notice. It's incredible how many doors open when you're true to your soul.

What is one quote or mantra you live by?

I'm going to break the rules and give three because I can't decide on just one! (Ahh and going off the previous question, here's another piece of advice: Make your own rules, as long as you are not breaking the law hehe)
Anyways, here are three quotes that really resonate with my life and I find myself using them in conversations with others:
  • "May we live like the lotus, at ease in muddy water" (I even have a lotus flower tattoo on my foot because of this quote)
  • "The comeback is always stronger than the setback"
  • "This too shall pass"

Brag on yourself – what is something you are REALLY proud of?

I'm really proud of my resilience and my ability to bounce back quickly from various obstacles I have faced in life, whether they be physical obstacles, matters of the heart, whatever. I'm a great example of someone who takes life's lemons and turns them into *extra sweet* lemonade :)
