Sylvia’s passion for skincare started at a young age when she struggled with skin issues of her own. After completing her studies in Esthetics and Management, she gained invaluable experience working for leading skincare companies, where she honed her expertise in formulating effective and innovative skincare products and services. Before developing Skin by Brownlee and Co., she took this time in her career to build her network and continuously learn and develop her skills throughout her work experiences.  Her best advice for women starting out their career is to believe in yourself, build a strong professional network, set clear goals and to never stop building your skillset. She also encourages young women starting out to find a mentor who has similar values and has achieved success in your field.


Sylvia established Skin by Brownlee & Co. with the mission of providing high-quality, scientifically-backed skincare solutions. From the beginning, her brand has remained committed to using cruelty-free ingredients and promoting sustainable practices. Sylvia's commitment to inclusivity and diversity has also been a driving force behind her brand. Under her leadership, Skin by Brownlee & Co has expanded its product range to cater to a diverse range of skin concerns, offering personalized solutions for individuals of all skin types and backgrounds. Slyvia wants to connect with her community by offering skincare for everyone irregardless of skin type. She believes community is everything to the overall success of Skin by Brownlee & Co, the ability to establish and maintain strong community ties is important. Fostering trust, encouraging word of mouth , the power of customer feedback allows Skin by Brownlee & Co to create emotional connections with their loyal customer base.


To stay centered on her core values, one of the first things Sylvia does each morning is read her daily scripture as this helps her to set the tone for her day. It also allows her to reflect on values and purpose so that this is communicated in her personal life as well as her business. Being a CEO involves making tough decisions and facing challenges therefore resilience to navigate these situations is necessary. Doing this allows her to lead a more fulfilling life overall.
