Strength in the Surrender: Asking for Help

Strength in the Surrender: Asking for Help

This week's Well Within 10 Podcast (available anywhere you get your podcasts), features Courtney Carroll, a licensed professional counselor at Poppy's Therapeutic Corner. Courtney shares her take on Strength in the Surrender: Asking for Help.

Check out the full interview below:

Courtney specializes in working with women, entrepreneurs, adults and adolescents that are dealing with anxiety, stress management, low self esteem, depression, anxiety, relationships, adjustment to life transitions and challenges.

She has experience in psychiatry inpatient services, case management, and school counseling. She is also open to working with couples that need assistance with communication, intimacy and creating a strong family bond.

She has always had a passion for adolescents and young adults. Courtney has spent the past 8 years facilitating groups, after school programming and curriculum creation to help build the self esteem and identity of youth.

How to ask for help:

  1. Reflect on what you need so you know what to ask for. Others cannot help you if you don’t know what you need.
  2. Let go of your ego – journal and explore how you might surrender and reach out for help.
  3. Review your support system – if you don’t have a strong one, consider how you might work to build one through vulnerability and trust. Consider starting with a therapist and then building to trust others.
